The Rico2 ESD safety sandal from BAAK, a model from the "Baak Sports light" series, combines functionality with modern design. This sandal is available in sizes 36 to 48 and features an attractive black/gray color scheme. It is made of high-quality microfiber with textile inserts and includes a padded collar and a practical Velcro fastener for optimal support and comfort.The Rico2 ESD is metal-free and leather-free, equipped with a plastic toe cap and a puncture-resistant, metal-free protection. The sole is made of slip-resistant nitrile and an EVA midsole, making the sandal particularly robust. It meets the standards DIN EN 61340-5-1, EN ISO 20345 S1P SRC, making it well-suited for use in various work environments.
Additionally, this model is suitable for orthopedic inserts according to DGUV 112-191 and ÖNORM Z 1259, with the "Baak Softstep" insole being replaceable. The weight of the sandal is approximately 515 g in size 42. This discontinued model is replaced by the successor model BA-210011, ensuring the long-term availability of high-quality alternatives.

ESD approved
Shoes have been tested in accordance with the specifications of DIN EN 61340. They generally have a volume resistance of 7.5 x 10^5 to 3.5 x 10^7 ohms.
Safety class S1P
Shoes with a protective toe cap made of aluminum, plastic or steel. They are slip-resistant, antistatic and have energy absorption capacity in the heel area. They also have a puncture-resistant steel midsole and a closed heel area. A fuel-resistant sole is also possible.
Metal-free toe cap
Metal-free toe caps are plastic/composite toe caps made of fiber-reinforced plastic. They are lighter than steel or aluminum caps and are not thermally conductive.
Slip resistance SRC
The shoe is slip-resistant both on ceramic tiles with NaLS (sodium sulphate solution) and on steel floors with glycerine.
Metal-free
The shoe is completely metal-free. It is made of textile material and plastic elements (protective toe cap, eyelets, etc.).
Vegan
The shoe is leather-free and free from other animal products. No animal materials or auxiliary materials with components of animal origin are used in production either.
Exchangeable insole
The insole is not firmly integrated into the shoe, but only inserted loosely. It can therefore be easily replaced if necessary.
DGUV 112-191
This regulation stipulates that orthopaedic insoles may only be used in safety footwear in conjunction with a valid type examination. This is to ensure that specified and tested properties (e.g. antistatic properties) are maintained.
