This device plays a crucial role in protecting electronic components from damages caused by electrostatic discharges and overloads, which can occur during work with metallic tools or through ungrounded employees.
The Iron Man Plus continuously monitors the voltage between the earth and the circuit board as well as the resistance between the earth and the work surface. It also ensures that the dual-wire wrist strap or grounding cable is functioning correctly. If an overvoltage exceeds the preset limits, the device triggers an optical and acoustic alarm. The sensitivity of the monitor can be adjusted between ≥±5V and ≥±15V, and the warning signal can be turned on or off as needed.
The monitoring functions include not only wrist straps and table or floor mats but also the general ground control of the work surface. For reliable operation, an annual calibration interval is recommended. The Iron Man Plus is powered by an AC adapter, making it an indispensable tool in any electronics manufacturing.
